The Guardian

The Guardian

from $63.00

2014. CHARCOAL ON BROWN PAPER. 13’ X 10’.

The buck in the foreground is named The Guardian. He stands tall in the wilderness amongst the abundance of wildlife surrounding him.

This was a magical and exciting time in Tang's life, where she was able to work in a rather larger studio space at Emily Carr University of Art & Design—she took advantage of that space. However, the Drawing class she was enrolled in had to be changed into a Mixed Media class due to the lack of students signing up for Drawing as their major. With the saddened news, Tang wanted to protect the importance of Drawing. She believes that drawing is the most fundamental process in making art. She sees that drawing is the beginning where creatives ideas flourish. Famous drawers tend to be rare in history books in comparison to painters and sculptors. The Guardian stands his ground proudly in the midst of all the action around him.
