Drawings

Tang is most well known for her animal drawings. Although a still image, the animals come to life with the expressive lines and gestures that represent movement and rhythm in the piece. With every unique stroke around the animals, an aura-like haze can be seen. With numerous different types of charcoal and eraser, light and shadow is created to bring these creatures to life.

“drawing is the most fundamental part of the creative proCess”
Fiona Tang
“Humans and animals coexist and we share this planet. Encountering an animal in wildlife can be a fascinating and breathtaking experience. Not only do we see them, but they are also looking right back at us. The brief moment where our eyes lock with each other, we communicate and have a conversation with one another. The eyes of the animals are the most important part of a drawing for me. It’s the window to the soul. We all have a story.”
